FIC Report (Kogi State) – The Kogi state Government has flagged off rural roads construction of nineteen point fifty five kilometers Obajana-Uro-Aku rural road under Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project RAAMP.

Flagging off the project, the State Governor Alhaji Usman Ododo said the choice of the road was strategic in expanding opportunities for farmers, traders and generally boost the state’s economy.

The Governor urged the benefiting communities to cooperate with the contractors by taking full ownership of the project and safeguard the equipments.

Governor Ododo called on the contractors to abide by the project specification and ensure quality delivery that will stand the test of time.

The National Coordinator of RAAMP, Mr Aminu Muhammed represented by Vivian Amadi applauded the Ododo administration for its commitment towards rural development and infrastructure advancement.

Also speaking , the state project coordinator RAAMP, Mr Sheidu Adamu said the road project which connect Zariagi- Obajana and Zariagi- Okene roads to the major road will enable farmers access to sell their products without spoilage.

Earlier in an address, Kogi State Commissioner for Energy and Rural Development, Mr Muhammad Abdulmutalib acknowledged the partnership of world Bank and French Development for the success of the RAAMP initiative.

A traditional ruler, the Obadofin of Ayegunle in Kabba Bunu local government, His Royal highness, Oba Sunday Omadamorin, described the road project as a welcome development that will not only benefit the community alone but the whole country in the long run.
