FIC Report (Katsina State) – A one-day retreat program was held yesterday at the conference hall of hill side hotel in Katsina State, bringing together the Federal Head of Service and Heads of Service from all 36 states of the federation.
The event served as a platform for sharing best practices, strengthening intergovernmental collaboration, and discussing strategic reforms in the Nigerian civil service.
The retreat commenced with a welcoming address by the Host Head of Service, Katsina State Alhaji Falalu Bawale, who expressed gratitude for the opportunity to host such a high-level gathering.
He welcomed all dignitaries and participants to the state and emphasized the importance of cooperation, knowledge sharing, and collective responsibility in advancing the Nigerian public service.
In her opening remark, the Federal Head of Service Mrs. Didi Esther Walson-Jack appreciated the warm hospitality of the Katsina State people and commended the efforts of all Heads of Service for their dedication and commitment to strengthening public administration in Nigeria.
She also commended the efforts of the Katsina State governor Dr. Dikko Umar Radda towards moving the state forward and ensuring good governance in the state.
Throughout the program, participants engaged in interactive sessions and strategic discussions on civil service transformation and leadership development.
The retreat also provided an avenue for peer learning, policy dialogue, and fostering unity among service leaders at both federal and state levels.
Earlier, the federal head of service paid a courtesy visit to the governor of Katsina state, Dr. Dikko Umar Radda at government house Katsina, where he was represented by his deputy, Faruk Lawal Jobe. She was also at the Emir’s palace where she paid respect to the emir, Alhaji Abdulmumini Kabir Usman.
She then proceeded to the federal secretariat complex where she interacted with the federal civil servants and had a tour of the complex.
A state dinner was held in the night at the government house conference hall where the head of federal service and states heads of service were honoured.
