FIC Report (Kano State) – Kano State is endowed with an abundance of solid mineral resources, spread across its 44 local government areas. Commissioner for Solid Minerals and Natural Resources, Alhaji Safiyanu Hamza, made this revelation during a roundtable discussion with Sheikh Mu’allim Nuh Bin Idriss Falata.
The mineral resources include Uranium, Gold, Tin, Kaolin, Lead-Zinc, Columbine, Tantalite, Glass sand, Bauxite, and Lithium, highly sought after in the global market. These resources have the potential to transform Kano State into a significant player in the mining industry.
Alhaji Safiyanu Hamza highlighted Kano’s rich history as an Arabian Sub-Saharan Trade Center and its reputation for religious tolerance, making it an attractive and morally safe investment destination. He assured potential investors in the mining sector of a comfortable and secure environment.
Sheikh Falata, Chairman/CEO of Da’am Al-Mawasem Catering Company based in Mecca, expressed gratitude for the warm reception and praised Governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf’s foresight in establishing the Ministry for Solid Minerals and Natural Resources. This move is expected to diversify revenue streams, promote environmental protection, and enhance community development.
Sheikh Falata pledged to study Kano’s mineral resources to leverage them for mutual economic prosperity. His team will explore opportunities for collaboration, paving the way for increased economic growth and development.
