Governor Simon Bako Lalong of Plateau State, has sworn – in a new Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Danladi Abok Atu and Chief of Staff to the Governor, Hon. Noel Kuryil Dangjur, with a charge on them to justify their calling by doing everything possible to add value to governance.
Speaking during the swearing-in of the new appointees recently at the banquet hall of the Government House, Rayfield, Jos, Governor Lalong, also tasked them to lead by example and ensure discipline as they are on their last lap to deliver on the promises made. He added that they had resolved that the next four years would be devoted to consolidating on the gains they had made, as well as expanding on critical areas of development for the benefit of the people.
“I am confident that you will bring to bear your wealth of experience, vast knowledge and spirit of patriotism and selfless service as you coordinate the running of government activities and programmes”, he noted.
According to him, there was no need for politicians to lobby for the position of Commissioner, as he has already concluded his nominations which were soon to be announced. “Nobody should come to me for lobbying as I have finished the compilation of the lists and is ready to be forwarded to the State House of Assembly.”
Responding, the new Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Danladi Atu thanked the government for finding them worthy to be part of the Rescue Administration.
He promised not to fail the Governor nor people of the State but ensure that they deliver the mandate reposed on them.
Prof. Atu maintained that with the responsibility bestowed on them, they felt challenged and humbled to do their best to move the State to the next level.
He, however, described Governor Lalong as a man that does not compromise in whatever thing he intends doing, adding that they will join hands in the crusade of delivery of good governance to the people of the state.
