Temitope Fashedemi, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Police Affairs has said that he with the support of the Minister of Police Affairs, Muhammad Maigari Dingyadi will run an open-door policy in order to achieve the mandate of the Ministry as a way of showing worthiness to Mr. President for entrusting part of the security of the Nation to the Ministry. Speaking during the courtesy visit of the management of Police Trust Fund to the management of the Ministry of Police Affairs, on Friday 9th October, 2020, Temitope emphasized on the need for all the agencies under the Ministry of Police affairs to collaborate and work towards achieving the corporate mandate of its existence.
Earlier, the Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Police Trust Fund (NPTF) Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto said that the main reason for the visit is to congratulate the Permanent Secretary on his appointment as he is a man whose wealth of experience and invaluable contributions to the Public Service and the nation cannot be underestimated. Ahmed, while soliciting for corporation, reiterated that the Nigeria Police Trust Fund is willing to work with the ministry as a team in ensuring that its mandate is realized. “it is therefore imperative that we work as a team to realize the set objectives and to move the Nigeria Police Force Forward”.
Explaining further, the NPTF boss hinted that the Trust Fund is envisioned to build a well-equipped and well-motivated Nigeria Police Force that would be prompt and responsive to security challenges in line with global standards and best practices. He noted that the Trust Funds mission is to provide the critical needs that would ensure the overall improvement and efficiency in the discharge of the duties and responsibilities of the Nigeria Police force, its auxiliary colleges and institutions. Ahmed expressed his desire for collectiveness in the discharge of duties as it will aid enhancement in service delivery.
Barr. Bolanle Omoluabi, Director, Legal Services, Ministry of Police Affairs in his vote of thanks, expressed gratitude for the efforts being put in place by the Ministry and the NPTF in mapping out strategies in combating insecurity which is Mr. President’s No. 1 agenda in this Next Level dispensation.
