The Ministry of Youth and Sports Development is exploring ways to further support the youth in this critical time of lockdown to slow the spread of COVID-19.
Details from a virtual meeting of the Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Mr. Sunday Dare, Permanent Secretary, Mr. Gabriel Aduda and directors in the Ministry revealed that talks are ongoing with mobile network operators to provide substantially subsidized data for the youth to enable them to complete their online digital courses.
The meeting that held on Wednesday touched on the wellbeing of youth during the lockdown, training, entrepreneurship and employment opportunities, productive engagement to keep youth from vices and the welfare for athletes who are all virtually out of action without earnings.
