FIC Report (Abia State) – Governor Okezie Ikpeazu says the reason behind the Annual One Day Governor is to inspire young ones to be Leaders of Tommorow.
Speaking at the Governor’s Lodge, Aba while “handing over” to the 2021 One Day Governor Miss Okorie Precious an indigene of Item and SS3 Student of Galaxy Gem Aba, the Governor congratulated her.
According to the Governor, giving opportunities to young ones to lead will give them hope and inspire them to be the best in what ever they do.
He admonished the Youth to be diligent and focused in giving responsibility and pledged to continue to encourage the Annual programme.
Earlier in her speech, the 2021 Abia One Day Governor, Miss Okorie Precious commended the laudable achievements of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu in many spheres of the state economy especially in promoting SME.
She pledged to prioritize the welfare of the people as well as bring to the fore policies and programes that will further promote the welfare and development of the Girl Child.
Miss Precious Okorie equally promised to consolidate on the gains of the Governor Okezie Ikpeazu administration,set up a functional Children’s Parliament and promised that her Team will be good Ambassadors of the state.
The One Day Governor who was accompanied by Members of her Cabinet was led to the event by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Teenage Affairs, Mrs Chineme Umeseaka.
Miss Precious Okorie, the 2021 Abia State One Day Governor as part of her official functions, paid a visit to the Abia State Specialist Hospital, Amachara, Umuahia.
She was received on arrival by the Chief Medical Director of the Hospital, Dr. Enwereji who took her round.
The One Day Governor used the opportunity to settle the bills of some of the Patients and assured them of the determination of the State Government to give due attention to the healthcare needs of the people.
