Chief Ayuba Gufwan, the Executive Secretary, National Commission for Persons with Disabilities has described the appointment of the Executive Secretary of Kebbi State Disability Commission, Abdullahi Aliyu Usman as a right step in the right direction.

Gufwan made the statement recently in Abuja while congratulating the Government of Kebbi State led by Governor Nasir Idris for harkening to the Federal government’s resolve to give priority to the teaming 35.5 million Nigerians with Disabilities by establishing a Disability Commission and “appointing an experienced administrator, Abdullahi Usman as the pioneer Executive Secretary”.

“NCPWD identifies with this noble gesture and pledges our support to the success of the new Commission as we congratulate Abdullahi Usman whose appointment we see as a right step in the right direction due to his wealth of experience garnered through his years of service as the President of JONAPWD,” he said.

The Executive Secretary further called on Disability Stakeholders to embrace the tenets of President Ahmed Bola Tinubu’s “Renewed Hope” Agenda which has rekindled the optimism and trust in the disability community.
