NGEP: Aduda Receives 2023 Mid-Year Report

The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Petroleum Resources, Amb. Gabriel Tanimu Aduda, on Thursday, 3rd August, 2023 in his office received the 2023 mid-year (January to May)    Report of the activities of the National Gas Expansion Programme (NGEP).

In his remarks after receiving the report, Aduda thanked members of the committee for making their submission in good time. He promised that the report would be properly examined and escalated to various stakeholders so that Nigerians would benefit maximally from it.

Aduda assured that very soon, the committee would see the manifestations and results of their efforts.

Responding, the Chairman of the National Gas Expansion Programme, Dr. M.M. Ibrahim stated that the committee worked assiduously to deliver on their mandate within the time frame in spite of numerous challenges. He, on behalf of his committee members restated their commitment to continue to serve the nation.

In her remarks, Director Gas, Ministry of Petroleum Resources, Mrs. Oluremi Komolafe expressed happiness that the programme turned out to be a significant achievement for the Ministry.

The National Gas Expansion Programme was inaugurated by the immediate past Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Chief Timipre Sylva on 16th January, 2020 with the objective to reinforce and expand Gas supply as well as stimulate demand in the country through the effective and efficient mobilization and utilization of all available assets, resources and infrastructure in the country.

The submission of the report was witnessed by the Ministry’s Director of Upstream, Engr. Kamoru Busari and some members of the committee’s secretariat.
