Nigeria, Germany signs €16.9M Grant on Health Project

The Federal Government, Republic of Germany (KFW Development Bank ) and Marie Stopes International Organization Nigeria (MSION) have signed a tripartite agreement on €16.9m grant on the Reproductive Health and Pandemic Resilience project in Nigeria.

Signing on behalf of the federal government, the Minister of State, Budget and National Planning, Prince Clem Ikanade Agba, appreciated the perennial support received from the German Government in various sectors. He highlighted the inclusion of issues of women Nigeria National Development Plan 2021-2025 as part of the cardinal objectives for promoting health habits, healthy behaviors and lifestyles across all life stages.

He added that the implementation of the Project would further deepen and promote effective partnership between Nigeria and Germany.

The German Government, through the Project, will support the Government of Nigeria in the Health Sector, by improving the quality of life of women and girls and by extension, the generality of the Nigerian population, the Minister stressed.

The ceremony was witnessed by Ms Susanne Schröder, Head of the Development Cooperation at the Embassy of Germany in Nigeria on behalf of KFW Development Bank, the Country Director of Marie Stopes, Emmanuel Ajah, and the Director of International Cooperation, Budget and National Planning, Dr Lanre Adekanye.
