Nigeria, United Arab Emirates strengthen bilateral relation on security

The Minister of Interior, Lt Gen. (rtd) Abdulrahman Bello Dambazau, says Nigeria and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) are in the process of fine-tuning their relationship on security.

Gen. Dambazau stated this when he received the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to Nigeria, Mahmood Mohammed Mahmood Almahmood, in his office.

The Minister said Nigeria is working out with the UAE, bilateral issues on transnational criminal activities, such as drug trafficking, human trafficking and cyber crime.

He described security as one of the areas of cooperation between the two countries, asserting that it must be tackled for the mutual benefits of Nigeria and the UAE.        

Earlier, the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to Nigeria, Mahmood Mohammed Mahmood Almahmood, stated that the purpose of his visit was to present to the Minister, the draft Agreement on Security between Nigeria and the United Arab Emirates.
