FIC Report (Kaduna State) – The National Security Adviser (NSA), Mallam Nuhu Ribadu,handed over 59 victims that were kidnapped by kidnappers but rescued to the Kaduna State Government.
The handover ceremony took place at the Office of the National Security Adviser situated at the Three Arms Zone in Abuja.
While handing over the victims, the NSA, Mallam, Malam Ribadu said that the rescue operation was the result of a joint effort by all security agencies, led by the 1 Division of the Nigerian Army in Kaduna.
Ribadu said the coordinated operations followed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s directive to intensify efforts to secure the release of kidnapped victims.
In his remarks, the Chief of Civil-Military Affairs, Major General Gold Chibuisi, reaffirmed their collaboration with the NSA in executing the presidential directive to secure the victims’ freedom.
Similarly, the Coordinator of the National Counter-Terrorism Centre, Major General Garba Laka, noted that some of the victims had been held captive for four months.
Laka further said that the victims were abducted from different parts of Kaduna, adding that sustained military pressure forced the kidnappers to flee, thereby leaving the hostages behind
