NTAC DG Lauds President Bola Ahmed Tinubu On Funding As NTAC Volunteers Return From Zanzibar, Ready To Impact Nigeria

A group of NTAC volunteers have returned from Zanzibar, where they spent two years sharing their skills and experiences with the local community. While receiving them in his office, the Director General of NTAC, Rt. Hon. Dr. Yusuf Buba Yakub, commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR for his visionary leadership and steadfast support for the NTAC initiative.

This commendation was made during a ceremony to receive the returning NTAC volunteers from Zanzibar. The DG warmly thanked the volunteers for their patriotism, dedication to service, and for making Nigeria proud on the international stage.

The DG highlighted the importance of knowledge sharing, announcing that certificates of completion would be presented to the volunteers. He emphasized the volunteers’ crucial role in passing on the skills and experiences gained in Zanzibar, hoping their efforts would positively impact the lives of Nigerians across the country.

Earlier, the Director of Programs, H.E. Ambassador Zakari Usman, expressed sincere gratitude to the DG for his unwavering support and provision for the volunteers throughout their service. The ceremony was attended by key directors and officers, including Rt. Hon. Yusuf Buba Yakub, Director General; H.E. Ambassador Zakari Usman, Director of Programs; and Mrs. Meimunat Haruna Mustapha, Head of Accounts.

The team leader expressed profound gratitude to God for the privilege of being selected to represent Nigeria in the two-year volunteer program. He thanked President Tinubu and DG Yakub for their efforts in elevating Nigeria’s presence and influence across Africa, the Pacific, and the Caribbean.

The ceremony culminated with the presentation of certificates to the volunteers, symbolizing their successful completion of the program. The volunteers shared that they gained invaluable experience and expertise in areas such as technical skills, project management, and cultural exchange. They broadened their perspectives and appreciated the untapped potential and resources within Nigeria.

The volunteers urged for the continuation and expansion of the program, so future volunteers and more nations could benefit from this impactful initiative. Notably, the volunteers revealed that their work was so impactful abroad that there was a reluctance to have them return—an affirmation of the program’s success and the exemplary service of NTAC volunteers.

The Nigeria Technical Aid Corps (NTAC), established in 1987, has a mandate to deploy Nigerian experts to African, Caribbean, and Pacific (ACP) countries to share knowledge and expertise.
