FIC Report (Ondo State) – The Federal Government has reaffirmed its commitment to reducing poverty and improving the welfare of citizens, as Ondo State emerges as one of the key beneficiaries of its social intervention programmes under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
The Minister for Poverty Reduction, Bernard Doro, disclosed that a total sum of ₦9.9 billion has been disbursed to beneficiaries across Ondo State within a three-month period. The intervention targets vulnerable households, providing financial support aimed at cushioning the effects of current economic challenges and enhancing living standards.
According to the Minister, the disbursement forms part of a broader nationwide effort to deliver economic relief directly to Nigerians at the grassroots level. He emphasized that the programme is designed to ensure transparency, accountability, and equitable distribution of resources across states.
In his words: “Ondo State alone has received ₦9.9 billion under the Renewed Hope Agenda within three months.”
Findings indicate that the intervention has positively impacted many households in the state, particularly low-income earners, traders, and rural dwellers, by improving access to basic needs and supporting small-scale economic activities.
Stakeholders in Ondo State have commended the Federal Government for the initiative, noting that the programme has contributed to easing financial pressures on families and stimulating local economic activities. They, however, called for sustained implementation and continuous monitoring to ensure that the benefits reach the intended recipients.
The Renewed Hope Agenda remains a critical component of the Federal Government’s strategy to address poverty, promote inclusive growth, and enhance socio-economic development across Ondo State and the nation at large.
