The Permanent Secretary Federal Ministry of Health, Olufunso Adebiyi has been redeployed to the State House and has resumed after his handing over ceremony at the Ministry on Friday 11 August 2023.
Adebiyi urged the Management team to extend the cooperation he enjoyed with the team to his colleague as she takes over the leadership of the Ministry. Adebiyi spent ten weeks as Permanent Secretary of the Ministry.
Addressing the Staff, Kachollom Daju solicited the cooperation of the management and staff of the Ministry in actualizing its mandate. Daju stressed the place of teamwork in enhancing the productivity of the Ministry, which will subsequently lead to an overall achievement of the Ministry’s mandate. “I am hopeful that with your full cooperation, I can settle in quickly, and work will continue in earnest.”
She expressed hope that the management and staff would work positively with her as a team, to support the Ministers, to not only continue to actualize the mission and vision of this Ministry, but also, to ensure the mandate of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s ‘Renewed Hope Agenda’ in the health sector to the citizens is achieved.”
She said that her experience at the Ministry of Labour and Employment will enhance her leadership with the various labour issues. Daju hopes to reduce to barest minimum incessant strikes with the various unions under the Ministry.
The Permanent Secretary noted that as an Information Officer, over the years, she would stand in good stead in pushing for a more visible Ministry of Health, publicizing its programmes and achievements.
The Director, Human Resources, Hassan Sallau pledged maximum cooperation of the management and staff with the Permanent Secretary, as they strive for the overall success of the Ministry.
Before her redeployment to the Health Ministry as Permanent Secretary, Kachollom Daju was the Permanent Secretary, Labour and Employment and has also served in various capacities, amongst which are Press Secretary, Federal Ministry of Agriculture & Rural Development as well as Head, Heart of Africa Project, Nigeria’s image project.
Daju is also a proud member of the Senior Executive Course 43 (SEC’43) of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru (NIPSS); Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) and Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria (APCON).
She also served on the Board of the Nigerian Film Corporation (NFC) representing the Federal Ministry of Information and Culture.
She was the Director of Public Relations and Protocol in the Federal Ministry of Information and Culture until her appointment as a Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment, by His Excellency, President Muhammadu Buhari on 27 April 2022.
