MAKURDI, BENUE STATE – (FIC Makurdi Report) – The Governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom on Tuesday September 11, 2018 swore-in Veronica Onyeke as new Head of Service for the Benue State Civil Service.
Samuel Ortom while performing the swearing-in ceremony urged the new Head of Service to be sensitive to the hard times that the Civil Service is passing through. This regarding the backlog of salaries owed workers in the State and the demand for productivity from them. The Governor who stressed that the appointment is purely on merit stated that his administration is gender-sensitive and called for strict adherence to the principles contained in the oath sworn-in.
In her response, the newly appointed Head of Service, Veronica Onyeke pledged her loyalty to the administration and promised her best towards building on the legacy of her predecessor, George Edeh (Engr) who retired after 35 years of meritorious service.
Veronica Onyeke until her new appointment was the Permanent Secretary in the Office of the Deputy Governor of the State. She is married with children.
