The SERVICOM Presidency Office has kick- started the year 2024 Sectorial Networking Seminar to foster operational excellence in Ministries Departments and Agencies (MDAs) of Government , themed “ Enhancing Stakeholders participation in Service Delivery through Strategic Sensitization on Service Charter Performance, “ holding in Kano metropolis, Kano State, from Monday 18th – 20th November, 2024.
This initiative is part of SERVICOM’s strides, a significant step in promoting bench marking and peer review, as well as gathering critical data on the status of our government agencies service charter.
Speaking during the opening ceremony of the Sectorial Networking Seminar, the National Coordinator / CEO SERVIOCOM, Mrs. Nnenna Akajemeli, stated that, this year’s networking is focused on promoting bench making and peer review , as well as gathering critical data on the status of our government agencies service charters.
According to her, this gathering signifies a significant step forward in our collective journey towards enhancing service delivery and achieving operational excellence within the public sector, as we strive to meet the evolving needs of our citizens, it is imperative that we continuously assess and improve our performance.
This benchmarking and peer review initiative she said, will offer invaluable opportunities for the MDAs to learn from each other, identify best practices, and implement innovative solutions, while comparing our performance against industry standards and the achievements of our peers , we can gain insights that would drive positive changes service wide, she added.
She explained that the collection of data on our Service Charter status is essential to ensuring transparency, accountability and citizens’ satisfaction.
The National Coordinator stressed on the need for MDAs to deploy the mechanism of understanding the extent to which we they fulfilling their commitments to the public, through this, we can identify areas for improvements and take corrective action.
Mrs. Akajemeli, encouraged all participants to actively participate in the discussions and activities that would be held throughout the seminar, urging them to share their experiences, insights, challenges openly as this would foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
The MDAs that participated are Federal Ministry of Education, Fed Ministry of Health and Social Welfare including all the Agencies under their purview, Nigerian Correctional services, Nigerian Police Force, Ministry of Interior.
Also in attendance are Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps, Federal Road Safety Corps, Ministry of Power, Ministry of Environment, National Health Insurance Authority. Customs Service, Nigerian Drug Law Enforcement Agency, Ministry of Petroleum with all their Agencies such as (NNRA, NUPRIC.PTI, NCDMB, NMDPRA). Nigerian Great Green Wall, Nigerian Immigration Services and Federal Ministry of Power.
