The Surveyor General of the Federation (SGoF), Surv. Taiwo S. Adeniran has charged Nigerian youths to take full advantage of various youth empowerment programmes of the Federal Government in order to add value that would encourage prosperous and egalitarian society.
Surv. Taiwo gave the charge in the Conference Room of Office of the Surveyor General of the Federation (OSGoF), Abuja during his conferment with the Mrs. Ladi Kwali Platinum Leadership Award of Excellence as Icon of Women Empowerment by the National Youth for Women Empowerment and Education in Nigeria.
To be able to lead and contribute usefully to the society, the SGoF expressed the need to avail themselves of opportunities of learning and improving on their skills from early age as he commended the various youth groups committed to the Nigerian Project.
While pledging his support for useful engagements of the organization, he enlightened them on the functions of OSGoF and the relevance of geospatial information towards any meaningful development of the society. He added that the management of OSGoF has packaged some activities to ensure proper advocacy, to show its relevance and make positive impact.
He said he has not done much by his own estimation but that he cherished the award as something that would encourage him and his team of management to work harder for in providing geospatial data and information that would help all sectors of the economy fast-track national reconstruction and advancement.
Earlier in her address, the National Coordinator of the organization, Miss Happiness Peter, with the Director of Legal Affairs, Alfa A. Abdulmalik and Director Programmme and Planning, Comrade Ibrahim Ibrahim who decorated the SGoF with the award and presented the certificate of the award said for the few months Surv. Taiwo assumed office as SGoF, he has impacted much.
They said they have followed his track records and were impressed describing him as confident, well focused and committed technocrat that required partnership for growth and development of the affairs of the country.
