The Governor further suggested that the commission organize workshops and training sessions to enlighten stakeholders on its roles, as well as clarify expectations for states and local government areas to enhance effectiveness.

The delegation from RMAFC is in Taraba State as part of a nationwide data verification exercise aimed at reviewing figures previously submitted by states and local government areas.

The team is led by the Federal Commissioner representing Kano State at the commission, Hon. Adamu Fanda.

According to him, the exercise is designed to generate accurate and updated data that will be used in determining revenue allocation among states and local government areas across Nigeria.

He explained that revenue allocation in Nigeria is based on specific indices intended to ensure fairness and justice in the distribution of national resources.

However, he noted that socio economic realities have evolved over time, with significant changes such as population growth, infrastructural expansion, and widening development gaps.

Hon. Fanda stated that the current revenue allocation formula has reached an advanced stage, making it necessary to validate the integrity and accuracy of the data that will guide revenue distribution.

He added that during their stay, the team will collaborate with relevant ministries, departments, agencies, and local authorities to ensure comprehensive data verification that reflects the current realities on the ground.

He also appealed for the support and cooperation of the state government, noting that the outcome of the exercise will have significant implications for both the state and the nation at large.
