Vice President, Kashim Shettima Pays One Day Working Visit To Nasarawa State

FIC Report (Nasarawa State) – Nigeria’s Vice President Shettima pays one day working visit to Nasarawa State, performs ground breaking ceremony of One-Stop Investment Centre, Multi-door Court House.

The Vice President of Nigeria Senator Kashim Shatima has flagged off foundation laying ceremony of Nasarawa Investment and Development Agency, NASIDA, distribution of items to victims of Flood in the State, tractors and seedlings to farmers across the 13 LGAs.

It was reported that Lafia the Headquarters of Nasarawa State was agog with activities as it hosted the Vice President Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Kashim Shettima, GCON on a One Day working visit.

While in the State Capital the Vice President flagged off the foundation laying for the building of Nasarawa State Investment and Development Agency, along Shendam road, Lafia.

As he proceeded to the Government House, the Vice President flagged off the distribution of food items, clothing, household equipment and building materials to the victims of flood in the State as well as the distribution of Tractors and rice seedling to farmers in the 13 Local Government Areas of the State.

The Vice President also make a symbolic presention of Certificate to the One Thousand One Hundred and Twenty Eight Graduands of Wing Commander Abdullahi Ibrahim Vocational and Technology Institute, Lafia at the Aliyu Akwe Banquet Hall at the Government House.

In his address, the Vice President commended Governor Abdullahi Sule for providing good leadership in the State and enjoined the people to continue to give him all the necessary support to encourage him to do more.

Kashim Shettima described Nasarawa State as the home for agricultural activities and urged the people to take advantage of what the Governor is doing to boost food production for domestic use and exportation.

He called on the people to live in peace and unity for the development of the state.

In his welcome address, the Executive Governor of Nasarawa State Engr. Abdullahi Sule appreciated the Vice President for coming to attend the occasion in spite of his tight schedules.

The Governor informed his guest of the effort by the state government to boost agricultural production where it cultivated two thousand hectre of land and determine to increase it to five thousand hectres next year.

Aside the groundbreaking ceremony of the One-Stop Investment Centre and Multi-door Court House, a World Bank Founded, the Vice President distributed tractors and Jangwa Paddi Rice to 13 LGAs Chairmen just as he visited the state government rice from Jangwa stored at Olam Warehouse in Lafia among other activities.

The Speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Danladi Jatau led other members of the House to the event just as the Emir of Lafia justice Sidi Bage Muhammad (Retired) led traditional rulers.

Other personalities in attendance included the, Deputy Governor, Dr Emmanuel Akabe, Senator Ahmad Wadada, Senator Simon Lalong, House of Representative member, Hon. Jeremiah Umaru, State First Lady, Silifat Abdullahi Sule, Director General, National Directorate of Employment, Hon. Silas Ali Agara, APC National Legal Adviser Abubakar Kana (SAN) and Hon. Ahmed Aliyu Tijani, Federal Commissioner, National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons among others.
