Ikpeazu urges Abians in New Year Message

FIC Report (Abia State) – The Governor of Abia State, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu has sent a warm New Year Message to the people of the State.

The Governor thanked God for sparing our lives to see a brand new year that promises to be filled with great hopes for our dear state.

Governor Ikpeazu is confident that in 2022, brand new vistas of development will be opened in our state and appreciated Abians for their support and cooperation in the past six and half years of his administration.

The Governor assures that with an improved socio-economic outlook in our state, the new year will definitely be better than previous years.

He thanked God for the peace and security we continue to enjoy in our state and tasked Abians to co-operate with his administration to ensure that peace and harmony continue to reign supreme in our State.

He assured further that adequate measures are in place to ensure that our people enjoy the yuletide season in peace and with their lives and properties adequately protected.

“On the economic front, we look forward to increased economic activities in our state, especially with the expected ground breaking ceremony of the Enyimba Economic City Project around the second quarter of 2022. In addition to this, we have invested heavily in mobilizing Contractors to different project sites across the State, especially in Aba.

The New Year will witness heightened construction activities designed to increase our Infrastructural stock and ease the movement of our people, their goods and services”.

Governor Ikpeazu is pleased that the State House of Assembly was able to conclude legislative work on the 2022 Appropriation Bill which he signed into Law on the 31st of December 2021 making the Appropriation Law effective January 1st, 2022.

This, the Governor noted, will add greater impetus to Government Business in 2022.

He pledged his commitment to the full implementation of the budget for the greater good of the people of Abia State.

Governor Ikpeazu reminds Abians that 2022 will witness increased political activities across the Country as the race for 2023 commences effectively.

He, however, admonished Abians to be on guard and avoid any action that will plunge our dear State into needless chaos in the name of politics.

He also tasked key political actors and parties to be mindful of the peace and security of our people as they engage in their political activities.

The Governor, on behalf of his family, wishes all Abians a beautiful 2022 filled with the blessings of God Almighty.
