FIC Report (Kwara State) – In commemoration of 2026 Worker’s Day, the Kwara State Governor, Mall. AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has approved 30% Peculiar Allowance for workers in the State.

According to him, “We have approved the 30% peculiar allowance for core civil servants in our state. In the spirit of fairness, our administration also approved upward review of Teacher’s Specific Allowance (TSA) for teachers, and different allowances for other professionals. In the last six years, we have cleared backlogs of salaries, allowances, pensions, while steadily clearing huge gratuities that we inherited along with the ones under us. We will continue to constructively engage labour leaders on areas of improvement.

“Our administration values the critical roles workers play in the socioeconomic development of our state. This is reflected in our timely payment of salaries, provision of conducive working environment, and swift implementation of any welfare-oriented national policy for the workforce.

“Today, I joined the rest of the world to celebrate the dignity of labour as we mark the International Workers’ Day 2026. I appreciate the incredible contributions of our workers across all sectors in Kwara State.

“I specially commend our gallant and courageous personnel who work round the clock to protect our people and keep our state safe and peaceful.”

The Gov reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to building a Kwara where workers thrive, where decent jobs are created, where careers are continually nurtured, and where every sector is empowered to contribute meaningfully to state’s prosperity.
