FIC Report (Benue State) – The Benue State Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Mrs. Veronica Garba, has called on Batch B Stream 1 Corps members deployed to the state to put into practice the knowledge and skills acquired from the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) programme to better themselves and contribute meaningfully to Nigeria’s economic growth.
Mrs. Garba made this appeal on Friday, 15th August, 2025, during the week-long intensive SAED training at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Wannune, Tarka Local Government Area.
In her keynote address, delivered by the Camp Director, Mr. Edwin Ubganze, she explained that the SAED programme was introduced into the NYSC orientation course to equip Corps members with relevant skills and entrepreneurial experience, thereby addressing post-service unemployment. She urged participants not to abandon the skills acquired, describing them as the pathway to technological advancement, wealth creation, a better Nigeria, and a brighter future.
Speaking earlier, the Assistant Director and Head of SAED in Benue, Mr. James Simput, commended the Corps members for their creativity, commitment, and active participation. He expressed pride in the quality of works displayed during the exhibition and competition, encouraging them to build on their newly acquired skills to create sustainable livelihoods and contribute to national development.

The event featured an exhibition and SAED competition, where Corps members showcased innovation across various fields, including ICT, solar energy, agro-allied ventures, fashion design, photography, makeup, and diverse crafts.
