FIC Report (Abia State) – The Governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu has commended the retiring Chief Judge of the State, Justice Onuoha Kalu Ogwe for his contributions towards the development of the judiciary in the State.
Dr Ikpeazu made the commendation during a Valedictory Church Service organized in honour of the retiring State Chief Judge held at Queen Elizabeth Chapel, FMC, Umuahia further lauded him for the cordial working relationship that existed between the State Judiciary and the Executive Arm of Government under his watch which contributed to the peace and harmony experienced in the State.
The Governor represented by his Deputy, Sir Ude Oko Chukwu expressed gratitude to God for His Mercies and Grace granted Justice Onuoha Ogwe for finishing his career without blemish as well as all he was able to accomplish in life.
He, however, reminded the retiring Chief Judge that having retired meritoriously, he still has much more service to render to the State, God and humanity and urged him to always avail them with his services whenever the need arises, praying God to continue to strengthen and show him mercy in his future endeavours.
Earlier in his Sermon titled “Celebrating God’s Faithfulness, the Guest Preacher, The Rev. Ejibe Eme enjoined all that they have every reason to always celebrate God’s Faithfulness because he is not only dependable but covers our weaknesses and made it clear that it is man’s responsibility to praise God to continue to benefit from his abounding goodness.
Responding, the Celebrant, and retiring State Chief Judge, Justice Onuoha Kalu Ogwe who said he could not have gone far in life without God Almighty for elevating him appreciated the State’s leadership for their love, trust and friendship which kept him as well as his colleagues, family and friends for their support so far.
The Service which featured a Special Thanksgiving by the Celebrant and Family attracted the presence of the President, Customary Court of Appeal, Justice Okey Nwamoh, the SSG, Mr. Chris Ezem, Top Government Officials, Body of Permanent Secretaries, Legal Luminaries, the Clergy, Traditional Rulers and other Distinguished Personalities.
