FIC Report (Akwa Ibom State) – The Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, Ph.D, has extended warm Democracy Day greetings to the people of Akwa Ibom State and Nigerians at large, celebrating the nation’s democratic journey and the remarkable gains recorded over the years.
In his Democracy Day message, Governor Eno described June 12 as a significant milestone in Nigeria’s history, symbolizing the collective sacrifices, resilience, and determination of citizens who fought for the sustenance of democratic governance.
The Governor paid glowing tribute to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for his contributions to the consolidation and deepening of democratic culture in Nigeria. He also acknowledged the efforts of Vice President Kashim Shettima, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Speaker of the House of Representatives Abbas Tajudeen, Chief Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, and other distinguished leaders whose dedication has helped strengthen the nation’s democratic institutions.
Governor Eno further expressed appreciation to the people of Akwa Ibom State, the Executive, Legislative and Judiciary Arms of Government, members of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and other stakeholders for their unwavering support, cooperation, and prayers in advancing the development agenda of the state.
According to the Governor, the spirit of democracy remains a catalyst for progress, unity, and inclusive development. He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to delivering the dividends of democracy to all citizens through the ARISE Agenda and the Renewed Hope vision.
“Together, we will continue to ARISE to a Renewed Hope and extend the dividends of democracy to all,” Governor Eno stated.
He urged citizens to remain steadfast in promoting peace, unity, good governance, and active participation in the democratic process for the continued growth and prosperity of Akwa Ibom State and Nigeria.
Governor Eno concluded by wishing all Akwa Ibomites and Nigerians a happy and memorable Democracy Day celebration.
