FIC Report (Imo State) – Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State has commended the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for implementing transformative reforms aimed at strengthening the economy, expanding opportunities for citizens, and advancing national development.
The governor made the remarks in his Democracy Day message to Nigerians, where he reflected on the nation’s democratic journey and called for sustained commitment to the principles of inclusiveness, participation, unity, and good governance.
According to him, democracy has evolved beyond a system of government to become a platform for collective decision-making, nation-building, and the pursuit of shared aspirations.
Uzodimma noted that despite existing challenges, Nigeria has continued to make steady progress through democratic governance, adding that the resilience of the people and the strength of democratic institutions have contributed significantly to the country’s growth and development.
He observed that the nation’s democratic experience has fostered greater citizen participation, strengthened dialogue among stakeholders, and reinforced the collective resolve to build a prosperous and united Nigeria.
The governor particularly acknowledged the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Tinubu, describing the President as a committed democrat whose administration has embarked on far-reaching reforms across critical sectors of the economy.
He stated that the reforms are designed to reposition Nigeria for sustainable growth, create opportunities for citizens, and restore confidence in the nation’s future.
“Under the Renewed Hope administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, we have witnessed transformative reforms across various sectors. These reforms are focused on positioning Nigeria to offer hope, opportunities, and assurance of growth for every Nigerian,” he stated.
Uzodimma urged Nigerians to remain steadfast in their support for democratic governance and continue to embrace the values of unity, stability, accountability, and peaceful coexistence.
He emphasized that the success of democracy depends on the active participation of citizens and their collective commitment to national progress.
The governor further called on Nigerians to draw inspiration from the gains of democracy and continue working together to strengthen institutions, deepen democratic culture, and promote policies that enhance the welfare of the people.
As the nation marks Democracy Day, Uzodimma expressed optimism that Nigeria’s democratic journey would continue to yield greater dividends and accelerate national development.
