FIC Report (Koi State) – The Governor of Kogi State, Ahmed Usman Ododo, has approved the early disbursement of December salaries to civil servants and pensioners, a move aimed at easing their preparations for the festive season. This announcement was made on December 14 by Kingsley Fanwo, the Commissioner for Information.
Fanwo explained that the decision to pay salaries mid-month reflects the government’s commitment to ensuring that workers and retirees can plan ahead for Christmas and New Year celebrations. He noted that the initiative follows a similar gesture during the Sallah holidays, which allowed workers to celebrate comfortably with their families.
The commissioner emphasized that this proactive approach underscores Governor Ododo’s dedication to the welfare of public servants, acknowledging their vital contributions to the state’s development. “Timely salary payment is a way of appreciating their hard work and commitment to the growth of Kogi State,” Fanwo said.
The early salary release ensures that civil servants can meet their financial needs in time for the festivities, reducing stress and enhancing their ability to enjoy the season with loved ones. The move is expected to boost morale and productivity among the state’s workforce.
Governor Ododo’s administration has prioritized workers’ welfare as a key pillar of governance. Fanwo reassured residents that this focus would continue, with more initiatives aimed at improving the quality of life for the people of Kogi State.
