Livestock Ministry To Partner Nigerian Institute Of Animal Science 2026 Conference On Animal Agriculture …Minister

The Federal Ministry of Livestock Development has pledged to partner with the Nigerian Institute of Animal Science (NIAS),  for  the upcoming , 9th edition of year 2026,  conference  on Animal Agriculture, scheduled to  hold  in Nigeria.

The Honourable Minister of Livestock Development, Idi Mukhtar Maiha, stated this when a delegation from the Local Organising Committee (LOC), led by the Registrar, Nigerian Institute of Animal Science,visited his office today  in Abuja on Wednesday 15th April, 2026.

The Minister explained that, there will be  lectures and exhibitions display during the conference and  he also called on  all Stakeholders, both  in the Private sector, Financial institutions and development partners to give support to the conference.

Maiha pointed out that, the conference, which was rescheduled from year 2025 to 2026, would need  adequate planning for a good outing, adding that the expectations of the International Communities  towards Nigeria hosting this conference is quite high and  strong.

The Honourable Minister said that, all State Offices of  Ministry of Livestock Development,  would be part of the conference

In her earlier presentation, the Chairman Local Organising Committee (LOC),  Professor Grace Jokthan explained that, the conference would  bring together experts, researchers, and stakeholders from Africa to discuss on the developments and best practice in animal agriculture and livestock production that would culminate in sustainable economic growth for Nigeria.

Jokthan also  informed the Minister that,  the LOC has begun earnest preparations towards  planning logistics, partnership and participants engagements during the course of the event.

She further appealed to the Ministry to support and  proffer guidance for the upcoming event, this she said,  would be geared towards  ensuring the successful hosting of the conventional event in Africa.

Professor Jokthan emphasized that currently, conference submission papers, and abstracts have commenced on the website, adding that they are also driving awareness campaigns across the various social media platforms ,  to ensure that participants are fully aware of the forthcoming event in Nigeria.
