The Director General of Maryam Babangida National Centre for Women Development, Honourable Dr Asabe Vilita Bashir, has charged the Centre’s management team and staff to be committed to the empowerment of women and girls in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration’s eight-point agenda for improving the lives of Nigerian women.

Reiterating the Centre’s vision as a leading institution dedicated to empowering women and girls and promoting gender equality in Nigeria and beyond, Honourable Dr Bashir noted that the Centre remains the only parastatal of the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs. It is an organisation richly endowed by Nigerian women for its cause in facilities, aesthetics, and critical mandate in development.

The Director-General gave this charge on Tuesday during a one-day strategic management review meeting held at Nasarawa state. She stated, “It is expected that this meeting will remain pivotal for us to collectively delve into strategic discussions, share valuable insights, collaboratively and collectively review the robust management strategies that will serve as the guiding force for our organisation’s endeavours in the new year and beyond, she asserted”.

MBNCWD boss further stated that the gathering has provided the management team and staff with a unique opportunity to synergized their efforts, leverage their diverse expertise and amplify the positive influence they can exert on the path towards gender equity and socio-economic growth as it is expected that all that have participated in the discussions will bring forth great perspectives, experiences and innovative ideas in line with the eight-point agenda of the current administration.

She stated that “as the meeting continues, let us remain resolute and focused on our vision: a society where women and girls, including people with disabilities and age, are not only equal contributors but also key drivers of progress. “Together, let us envision and implement initiatives that will empower women and girls to reach their full potential and contribute significantly to the development of our country, she stated.”

She commended the management team and staff for their support in achieving the Centre’s mandate while she urged them to continue their fruitful deliberations that will resonate with the mission and vision of the Centre.

The high points of the events are the copious presentations by all the departmental directors, heads of units and the group photographs with the Director General.
