NRS Sensitises Federal MDAs On REV360 Digital Tax Platform, EHCON Highlights Environmental Health Regulatory Mandate

FIC Report (Benue State) – The Nigeria Revenue Service (NRS), Benue State Office, has sensitised members of the Association of Heads of Federal Establishments (AHFE) on the Federal Government’s newly introduced digital tax administration platform, REV360, designed to simplify tax administration, improve compliance, and enhance service delivery.

The Benue State Tax Controller, Mrs. Rose Bem Ugoh, disclosed this on Tuesday, 14th July, 2026, while delivering a paper during the AHFE meeting held at the National Library, Makurdi.

In her presentation, Mrs. Ugoh highlighted the key provisions of the new tax reform laws signed in June 2025. These include the Nigeria Tax Act, Nigeria Tax Administration Act, Nigeria Revenue Service Establishment Act, and the Joint Revenue Board Establishment Act.

She explained that the reforms are aimed at simplifying Nigeria’s tax system, modernising tax administration, creating a more business-friendly environment, particularly for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs), and strengthening compliance with tax obligations.

Mrs. Ugoh informed participants that the Nigeria Revenue Service (NRS), formerly known as the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), has replaced the TaxPro Max platform with REV360, a comprehensive digital solution that provides taxpayer registration, tax return filing, payment of taxes, and communication on tax-related matters through a single platform.

According to her, REV360 simplifies tax compliance by reducing paperwork and processing delays, improving taxpayers’ experience through its user-friendly interface, and supporting Nigeria’s transition to a modern digital economy.

She added that for Federal Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) and other public institutions, the platform enables seamless online registration and account management, facilitates the filing and payment of Withholding Tax (WHT) and Value Added Tax (VAT), supports real-time reporting and e-invoicing, and allows taxpayers to file returns independently, through tax consultants, or via integrated accounting software.

Mrs. Ugoh appreciated the participants for their attention and encouraged them to familiarise themselves with the REV360 platform and comply with the provisions of the new tax laws to avoid penalties while contributing to a more transparent and efficient tax administration system.

In a separate presentation, the Coordinator of the Environmental Health Council of Nigeria (EHCON), Mrs. Ule Ule Ehcoro, highlighted the Council’s mandate to strengthen health manpower development by producing skilled environmental health professionals committed to protecting public health.

She explained that the Act establishing the Council empowers it to determine standards of knowledge and professional competence, conduct qualifying examinations, regulate the practice of environmental health, and register qualified practitioners across the country.

Mrs. Ehcoro noted that EHCON also plays a critical role in school inspection and accreditation in collaboration with the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), ensuring that institutions offering environmental health programmes meet prescribed national standards for admission, safety, and infrastructure.

She further stated that the Council promotes environmental safety and regulatory compliance through workplace inspections, investigation of occupational accidents, enforcement of public health and environmental regulations, and monitoring of public transport safety standards.

According to her, EHCON’s regulatory framework is designed to safeguard public health, while ensuring that environmental health institutions and professionals operate in full compliance with established standards.

She added that environmental health professionals contribute significantly to both the public and private sectors by advising organisations, supervising environmental health practices, regulating compliance, educating the public, and issuing permits and licences to qualified environmental health officers and service providers.

In his closing remarks, the Federal Pay Officer, Mr. Ochefu John Iduh, commended the resource persons for their insightful presentations and thanked participants for their active engagement throughout the meeting.

The meeting featured an interactive question-and-answer session during which participants sought clarifications on the presentations, with the resource persons providing official responses to the issues raised.
