FIC Report (Taraba State) – President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the immediate construction of an airstrip on the Mambilla Plateau, marking a significant step toward improving infrastructure and connectivity in the region.
Following the presidential approval, a delegation of engineers and contractors visited the proposed site to conduct an initial inspection and assessment ahead of the commencement of construction.
The inspection team was led by Senator Marafa Bashir Abba Wazirin Mambilla and Alhaji Abdulrahman Usman Leme, the Madakin Mambilla.
According to sources familiar with the project, construction is expected to begin in the coming weeks, with the airstrip anticipated to enhance transportation, boost economic activities, and improve access to the Mambilla Plateau.
The development has been welcomed by many residents and stakeholders, who describe the project as a major milestone for the region.
