FIC Report (Sokoto State) – The Northern Elders Progressive Movement (NEPM), has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for his efforts in tackling insecurity, developing infrastructure and fostering political cohesion in the country.
In a statement issued on Sunday, 28th June, 2026, by the Secretary General of the Movement, Yusuf Abubakar, stated that the landmark achievements of president Tinubu in nation-building, cohesion and peace are immeasurable to any discerning mind. The Secretary General described the Federal Government’s laudable achievements across various human and capital sector as measure steps towards sustaining political unity, peace and understanding despite external pressures and challenges.
The Movement also called for understanding among all Nigerians to build a prosperous nation founded on development and peace. It commended the president Bola Ahmed Tinubu led administration’s efforts in addressing insecurity in the North, particularly the North- West, nothing that the gains should be appreciated despite isolated attacks on some communities.
The recent success recorded in tackling insecurity in Katsina, Kebbi, Kwara, Niger, Sokoto and Zamfara states where bandits enclaves were destroyed and their leaders eliminated are further evidence of progress in the fight against terrorism. It commended the operation fansan Yamma and other security agencies for their sacrifices.
The Movement likewise commended the Minister of State for Defence, Muhammed Bello Mutawalle, and the Defence headquarters for their commitment towards improving military operations under operation fansan Yamma in many communities across the North-West.
