Servicom Inaugurates MSU, MSC At Ministry Of Regional Development To Drive Efficient Service Delivery, Renewed Hope Agenda

In a significant step toward entrenching accountability, transparency, and operational efficiency across all geopolitical zones, the SERVICOM Office, Presidency has officially inaugurated the Ministerial SERVICOM Unit and Committee (MSU/MSC) of the Ministry of Regional Development (MRD).

The landmark event, held on 17th August, 2026, at the Ministry’s Headquarters, underscored the Federal Government’s commitment to bridging the performance-expectation gap between public institutions and citizens under the Renewed Hope Agenda.

Delivering the keynote address on behalf of the Ag. Coordinator/CEO of the SERVICOM Presidency, Mrs. Helen Lawal, the Head of SERVICOM Operations, Mrs. Ngozi Akinbodewa, commended the Ministry’s leadership for establishing the service delivery structure. Mrs. Lawal stated that public service was the fundamental entitlement of citizens, noting that “the primary purpose of government remains improving the quality of life through impactful infrastructure, community development, and equitable socio-economic policies across the South-South, North-East, North-West, South-West, South-East, and North-Central regions”.

Mrs. Lawal outlined the core mandates of the newly inaugurated Ministerial SERVICOM Unit and Committee (MSU/MSC), which included officers drawn from key departments such as Planning, Research, and Statistics, as well as Reform Coordination and Service Improvement among others. She charged the committee to “spearhead the review and implementation of the Ministry’s Service Charter, establish robust grievance redress mechanisms, monitor quality standards, and manage customer feedback across all service windows”.

In her welcoming address, on behalf of the Permanent Secretary, Dr. Mary Ada Ogbe, the Director of Special Duties, Mrs. Gloria Inyangabasi, described the advocacy visit and the inauguration as a “vital milestone in institutionalising professionalism and responsiveness within the Ministry”. She urged the newly inducted members to approach their duties with dedication, emphasising that public trust depended heavily on the efficient execution of the Ministry’s regional development mandates.

Expressing gratitude at the close of the event, the Overseeing Director of Reform Coordination and Service Improvement, Mr. Nkowa Bernard, thanked the SERVICOM Presidency team, management, directors, and participants for their active engagement. He reaffirmed the Ministry’s resolve to translate the orientation and induction into “concrete operational improvements, robust stakeholder collaborations, and enhanced service delivery for communities nationwide”.
